Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reggie Lewis (ranked 3982 p4p, 6879 weight class) and Clifford Val Salvacion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reggie Lewis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reggie Lewis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clifford Val Salvacion! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lewis shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Salvacion's guard. Lewis looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Lewis controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Lewis postures up.
Lewis with a flurry of punches that miss. Lewis trying to control the position from guard on top but Salvacion is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Salvacion controlling Lewis's posture. Lewis missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lewis postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Lewis goes for a double leg but Salvacion avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Salvacion continues to drive forward.
That's one minute gone in the round. Salvacion looking for a takedown. Salvacion drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lewis pulls his leg out and moves away.
Nice sprawl there from Salvacion as Lewis shoots in. Salvacion will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Reggie Lewis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clifford Val Salvacion. Salvacion fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lewis avoids it really well and circles away. Salvacion shoots in looking for a takedown but Lewis manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Salvacion's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lewis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Lewis tries to counter with a takedown but Salvacion is quick to defend against it. Salvacion with a poor takedown and Lewis counters with a nice double leg into side control. Salvacion won't be happy with that. Lewis working the ground and pound. Lewis misses with the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lewis in side control, throwing shots but Salvacion defends. Lewis looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Salvacion is avoiding damage well.
Salvacion is trying to control Lewis's posture but Lewis avoids it. Salvacion defending against the ground and pound. Lewis misses with the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lewis controlling the position. The strikes coming from Lewis are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Lewis content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Salvacion tries to escape but Lewis is in control. Lewis misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Salvacion dodges the ground and pound from Lewis. Salvacion regains half guard, as Lewis was trying to land strikes. Lewis looks to land a strike but Salvacion avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Lewis stopping the sweep attempt from Salvacion. Lewis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Lewis throwing strikes but missing. Lewis throwing strikes from guard but Salvacion blocks nicely. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Lewis works over Salvacion with some ground and pound from guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lewis is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Lewis throws an elbow that misses. Salvacion uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lewis's guard. Nice move by Salvacion!

Lewis scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Lewis not landing any meaningful shots this time. Lewis slips a nice elbow through Salvacion's hands, connecting with Salvacion's forehead. Lewis thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Salvacion keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lewis thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Salvacion's head. Salvacion has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lewis is working away from the top position though. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Lewis working over Salvacion with some ground and pound. Salvacion looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Lewis controlling the pace. Lewis is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Salvacion can do to turn this around?

Lewis lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Lewis throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Salvacion to regain full guard. Salvacion is controlling Lewis's posture. Lewis postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Lewis controls from within his opponent's guard. Lewis seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Salvacion for as long as he can get away with.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Lewis lands a couple of elbows. Salvacion is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Salvacion has momentary wrist control but Lewis slips an elbow through the middle. Lewis's corner is telling him to maintain position. Salvacion is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lewis tries for a takedown but Salvacion sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Reggie Lewis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Salvacion.

Lewis postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Lewis connects with a nice short shot to Salvacion's temple. Lewis slows the pace down in half guard. Lewis misses with a head shot. Salvacion uses the momentum to regain guard. Salvacion shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lewis but Lewis pushes him off and we're back to square one. Salvacion closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lewis circles away. Lewis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Lewis throwing shots but missing, from side control. Lewis landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Check out the look on Lewis's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

And that's the end of the fight! Reggie Lewis showed his dominance in that final round. Well Lewis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
