PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Aleksey Viktorov (ranked 1605 p4p, 2399 weight class) and Jaro Lalla (ranked 81 p4p, 117 weight class). Viktorov comes into the arena with Lyube - Davay Za blaring out of the sound system. Lalla has chosen ЛЮБИ as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Aleksey Viktorov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 17 - 2, fighting out of London, Jaro Lalla!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Aafke Stam and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Viktorov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Lalla looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Viktorov fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lalla, pushing him back against the cage.
Lalla has Viktorov pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Lalla pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Viktorov tumbling to the mat - Lalla dives into Viktorov's guard.
Lalla stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Viktorov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Viktorov looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Lalla passes into half guard.
Lalla uses his free foot to push down on Viktorov's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Viktorov.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lalla jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Viktorov manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Lalla tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lalla has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Viktorov can't do much from the bottom here.
Lalla is trying to get an arm triangle but Viktorov is defending well.
Lalla thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Viktorov manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Viktorov seems to be working for a kimura but Lalla defends the submission attempt.
Viktorov trying to advance position but Lalla counters by regaining guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Viktorov content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Lalla has locked up a guillotine! Lalla's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Viktorov is holding on here and Lalla must be using up a lot of energy. Viktorov has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Lalla gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jaro Lalla!
A very excited looking Jaro Lalla made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
