The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Ortega crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Silver - the referee stops the clock and Ortega gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Silver. Ortega manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Ortega tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Silver throws a leg kick which misses Ortega's front leg but catches the back leg as Ortega tries to avoid it.
Silver stuffs the takedown.
Silver dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Ortega. That did some damage!

Ortega stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silver swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ortega postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Silver is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ortega, into his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ortega will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Tito Ortega showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Ortega has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Ortega drops back looking for a leg! Silver is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silver manages to kick Ortega off! Ortega jumps back into Silver's guard.
Silver might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Ortega throws and elbow that misses. Silver uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ortega's guard. Nice move by Silver!
