Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tom Rivers (ranked 290 p4p, 556 weight class) and Beta Knox (ranked 35 p4p, 70 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Knox's choice of entrance music: Anthrax | Fight Em Till You Can't. Beta Knox has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tom Rivers!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Beta Knox!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knox swings for the body but Rivers moves out of range.
Rivers throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rivers with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Knox fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A nice inside leg kick there by Rivers. That's going to slow Knox down.
Rivers tries to move into range but Knox moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Rivers connects with a body shot that sends Knox's belly button to the back.
A low kick lands for Rivers.
Rivers throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Knox! But no joy.
Rivers ducks under a wild hook from Knox.
Rivers throws a jab when Knox was well out of range.
Knox lands a nice shot that snaps Rivers's head back.
Good shot there by Rivers.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Knox throws a right hand that misses
and Rivers makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Tom Rivers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rivers displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Knox throws out the jab.
Knox takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Knox fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rivers manages to avoid it.
Knox slips a jab and a cross from Rivers.
Knox throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rivers lands the left hand.
Knox throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Rivers counters with a stiff right hand.
Rivers connects with a single shot there.
A swing and a miss from Knox.
Knox missing with a left hand there. Rivers was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Knox checks a leg kick.
Knox moves forwards but Rivers connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Knox stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rivers throws a body shot but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Knox misses with a body shot.
Knox gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Rivers.
Donk. Knox catches Rivers right on the button with a cross.
Rivers moves out of range of the strikes.
Knox rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Knox takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Knox is rocked!
A jab from Rivers finds it's way through Knox's defenses.
Knox is still on wobbly legs! Can Rivers finish him?
Rivers tries to move into range but Knox moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
We've been informed that Knox has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Rivers engages and cracks Knox with a massive lead left hook - Knox tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Rivers is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tom Rivers!
Tom Rivers retains his lightweight title!
Tom Rivers decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
Beta Knox spoke after the fight, saying '"If you haven�t lost in this
sport, you haven�t fought the right guys yet." (Matt Hughes) '.
