Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frederick Zwirn (ranked 599 p4p, 1490 weight class) and Julius Turunen (ranked 78 p4p, 173 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Julius Turunen!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zwirn closes the distance but Turunen moves to the side
and Turunen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Turunen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
It looked like Zwirn wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Turunen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Zwirn moves in looking to clinch but Turunen pushes him off.
Frederick Zwirn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Turunen drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Zwirn has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

A big strike lands for Turunen! That's really hurt Zwirn and he's turned his back - Turunen keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Turunen jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
