Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Billy Quinn (ranked 1020 p4p, 620 weight class) and Kollaa River (ranked 119 p4p, 78 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Quinn might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bad MF. River has chosen For Heavy Metal we will die! as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Quinn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kollaa River!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Ren Mimura and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quinn connects with a good right hand that stumbles River. River circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
A nice leg kick from River, right into the meat of the thigh.
River moves out of range of the strikes.
Quinn misses with a wild combination.
River doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
A big right from Quinn misses.
Quinn takes one to the chin there.
Quinn thows a left - swing and a miss!
River looks to throw the jab but Quinn is out of range.
Quinn throws a combination but it was largely blocked by River.

and River counters with a three punch combo that has Quinn backing up. Quinn nods at River to acknowledge the strikes.

Quinn throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
River moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Quinn throws a hook to the side of River's head but River sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

We've been told by Quinn's head coaches at Roosters Coop that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
River does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Quinn misses with a few strikes there.
Quinn throws an uppercut from half a mile away. River sees it coming and avoids it easily.

River will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that River has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Quinn is really struggling to find his range with his punches. River's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

River shoots for a takedown but Quinn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
It looked like Quinn wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kollaa River dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

River closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Quinn is trying to control River's posture but River avoids it.
Quinn is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
River advances nicely into full mount.
Quinn is trying desperately to improve position.
Quinn sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

River is looking for a kimura but Quinn is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for River to get the leverage.

Quinn wants to improve his position here. There's a bit of a scramble and River has taken Quinn's back! He's locked on a rear naked choke here and Quinn has been forced to tap!

Kollaa River bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
Billy Quinn was interviewed post fight and said 'He got me today but run that shit back and I'll knock his ass out!'.
