Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Zach Hockert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gerald Egans!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hockert closes the distance and clinches up with Egans, looking for a takedown. Hockert pushes Egans against the cage but Egans circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hockert misses with a takedown attempt - Egans sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Egans closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Egans just leaning against Hockert, taking a breather.

It looks like Zach Hockert has been cut.

Egans breaks from the clinch.
Hockert fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Egans creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Hockert's defenses.

Hockert takes an elbow to the forehead.

Egans successfully pulls guard.
Hockert prevents Egans from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Egans kicks Hockert off and gets to his feet.
Egans throws a one two combo.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Egans takes the fight into the clinch.

Egans is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hockert can't fight it off and eventually Egans manages to take the fight to the floor. Hockert looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hockert tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hockert is trying to control the position but Egans postures up.
Egans wants to control from the top but Hockert keeps moving.

Egans stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Hockert looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Egans throws a series of strikes that have Hockert backpedaling.

Egans rushes Hockert and presses him up against the cage.
Egans lands an elbow inside that Hockert shrugs off.


Jeez, Zach Hockert's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Hockert ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hockert no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Egans wants to stand and escape but instead Hockert has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hockert won't allow Egans to get back to his feet.
Egans is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Hockert dives into side control.
Hockert works to advance to full mount. Egans defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Hockert punching from mount but Egans doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Hockert looking to control and managing it successfully.

Hockert is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Egans can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Egans tries to hold on but Hockert pushes him away.

Hockert has hold of Egans's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Egans manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Poor strikes thrown by Hockert there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Egans tries to reverse the position but Hockert maintains control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gerald Egans dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Zach Hockert's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Egans throws a good cross that connects.

Egans has managed to clinch.
A left hand lands to the body for Egans.
Hockert jumps guard but Egans stands there with Hockert around his waist. Hockert gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hockert wants to get back to striking at distance but Egans won't allow it.

Egans turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Egans manages to end up in side control.
Hockert tries to improve position but can't.
Hockert wants to control but Egans postures up.

Egans stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Egans closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Come on Egans - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Hockert tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Hockert is trying to break free.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Egans lands an elbow just above Hockert 's eye.
Egans has Hockert pushed against the cage.
Hockert wants to break free but Egans has control.
Egans lands an elbow that stopped Hockert in his tracks for a moment.
Egans tries to land a knee to the head but Hockert blocks with his arms.
Hockert fails to pull guard.
Hockert wants to break the clinch but can't.
Hockert wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Egans gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Zach Hockert's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Gerald Egans!
