Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joe Somebody!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kelii Hale!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hale misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Somebody.
Hale misses with a few strikes there.
Hale throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Somebody on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.


It looks like Joe Somebody has been cut.
Somebody shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Hale looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Hale throws a nice looking combination but Somebody bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Hale throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Somebody.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Joe Somebody will probably get the nod.

Somebody drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Somebody jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Somebody stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hale swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Somebody is trying to drag Hale to the mat but Hale just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Somebody is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hale pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Kelii Hale is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hale throws a lazy head kick

and Somebody counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Somebody postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Somebody preventing the sweep.
Somebody pushes down on Hale's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Somebody has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Hale defend it? Somebody steps over the head and cranks it - Hale is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Somebody!
