Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 40 - 31 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aloysius Wiremu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 27 - 0, fighting out of New York, Oleg Liguy!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wiremu connects with a looping right hand.
Liguy's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Wiremu connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Liguy scrambles back to his feet.
Liguy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wiremu as he avoids it easily.
Wiremu throws a quick inside leg kick.
Nice sprawl there from Wiremu as Liguy shoots in.
A quick step to the side and Wiremu tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Liguy blocks a head kick by Wiremu.
Wiremu moves into the clinch.
Wiremu cracks Liguy with a nice body shot.
A right hook to the body lands for Wiremu.
A short right from Wiremu on the inside.
Wiremu being controlled against the cage.
Wiremu lands with a left to the head.
Wiremu scores with a nice hook to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wiremu tries to throw a body punch but Liguy avoids it by throwing Wiremu back against the cage.
Liguy missing with knees to the body.
Wiremu pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Liguy goes for a double leg but Wiremu avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wiremu continues to drive forward.
Aloysius Wiremu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oleg Liguy.
Wiremu lands with a nice combination. Liguy backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Oleg Liguy has been cut.
Liguy shoots and misses
and Wiremu makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Liguy looks winded!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Wiremu lands a big head kick that sends Liguy tumbling to the mat! Wiremu takes a step backwards and waves Liguy back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Liguy is rocked!
Wiremu keeps Liguy at a distance using the push kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for Wiremu.
BOOM! Wiremu lands a beautiful left hook that drops Liguy. Liguy tries to recover but Wiremu is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Liguy lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aloysius Wiremu!
Our winner, Aloysius Wiremu, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
