The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivers moves out of range as Aleksy strikes.

Rivers bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Aleksy tries a head kick but it misses.
Rivers throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

and Rivers counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Aleksy thinking.
Rivers displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Aleksy throws out the jab.
Aleksy fails with an attempt to clinch.
Aleksy dives in and grabs Rivers's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rivers pushes down on Aleksy's head and hops out.
Aleksy takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Aleksy misses with a hook. Rivers ducked under it nicely.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Aleksy throws an overhand right that lands on Rivers's shoulder, as Rivers tries to avoid the shot.
Rivers connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Aleksy jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Rivers lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Rivers looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Aleksy scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Rivers scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Rivers stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Aleksy doesn't manage to clinch there - Rivers circles away.
Rivers drops Aleksy with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Aleksy looks back up at him and smiles so Rivers waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Aleksy is rocked!
Aleksy is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Rivers doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Aleksy crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Aleksy's bad books for that mishap!

In his post fight interview, Tom Rivers started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
