Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Justin Midget (ranked 4501 p4p, 2171 weight class) and Pit Canthropus Jr (ranked 483 p4p, 250 weight class). Canthropus Jr has chosen Austin Powers - Daddy Wasn't There as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Pit Canthropus Jr will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 39 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Justin Midget! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 14 - 1, fighting out of New York, Pit Canthropus Jr! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Canthropus Jr throws an off balance right hand
and Midget decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Canthropus Jr's guard. Midget trying to move into half guard but instead Canthropus Jr has managed to sweep! Canthropus Jr controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Midget is looking for a triangle but Canthropus Jr pushes his legs off easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Midget looking for a kimura from the bottom but Canthropus Jr passes into side control! Midget tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Canthropus Jr remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Midget tries to bench press Canthropus Jr off him but Canthropus Jr keeps the position. Midget's coaches at Desert Fitness & Training -13 Elites/1 Sensational have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Canthropus Jr remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Midget is trying to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Midget is working hard here to advance position. Canthropus Jr has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Iron Sharpens Iron. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Canthropus Jr remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Midget is looking to reverse the position. Midget might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Midget can't do much from the bottom here. Midget is looking for a sweep. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Canthropus Jr taking a breather here. Midget regains half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Canthropus Jr in particular looking to stall. Midget wants to control but Canthropus Jr passes into side.
Midget tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Canthropus Jr wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Midget is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Canthropus Jr wants to free his trapped foot but Midget is holding on for dear life with his legs. Midget looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Canthropus Jr escapes and gets back to his feet. Canthropus Jr swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Midget tries to counter with a takedown but Canthropus Jr is quick to defend against it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Midget fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Canthropus Jr doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Midget on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Canthropus Jr lands with a shot to the body. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Canthropus Jr scores with a kick to the midsection. Midget avoids a kick to the body.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Pit Canthropus Jr dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Horrible takedown attempt by Midget or perhaps it was just good defense by Canthropus Jr, which made it look bad. Canthropus Jr scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. The fighters circle momentarily. Canthropus Jr darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Canthropus Jr throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's one minute gone in the round. Canthropus Jr controlling Midget's posture. Midget preventing the sweep. Midget trying to control the position from guard on top but Canthropus Jr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Midget throws a big right hand that misses. That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Midget won't allow Canthropus Jr to sweep him here. Justin Midget overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Canthropus Jr is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Canthropus Jr with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Let's hope that Canthropus Jr has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Midget with the active half guard here but Canthropus Jr passes nicely into side control. Midget is looking for a sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Canthropus Jr slows the pace down. Midget tries to bench press Canthropus Jr off him but Canthropus Jr keeps the position. Canthropus Jr staying calm. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Canthropus Jr.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Midget is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Midget is looking to reverse the position. Canthropus Jr in side control, just content to control the action for now. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Midget is looking for a sweep. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Pit Canthropus Jr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round! Canthropus Jr connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Canthropus Jr has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Midget is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Canthropus Jr's half guard. Canthropus Jr makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Midget keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nice defenses there by Midget. Canthropus Jr throws a right and a left that both miss. Midget tries to counter with a takedown but Canthropus Jr is quick to defend against it. Midget drops his hands momentarily and Canthropus Jr takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Midget changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. A left lands for Canthropus Jr. Canthropus Jr connects with a single shot there. Nice sprawl there from Canthropus Jr as Midget shoots in. Midget blocks a head kick by Canthropus Jr.
Midget appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Midget takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Canthropus Jr scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Canthropus Jr goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Canthropus Jr misses with a wild body shot. Midget feinted with a counter takedown. Midget has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Canthropus Jr. Canthropus Jr lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Canthropus Jr lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Canthropus Jr ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Canthropus Jr connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. A kick lands to the mid section there for Canthropus Jr. A decent looking cross lands there for Canthropus Jr. Canthropus Jr connects with a body shot that sends Midget's belly button to the back. Pit Canthropus Jr seems to be getting the better of the standup. Canthropus Jr tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Midget takes one on the button. Canthropus Jr pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Canthropus Jr missing with a left hand there. Midget was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Midget appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Canthropus Jr digs a good body shot into Midget's ribs. Midget takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Canthropus Jr scores with a jab to the body.
And that's the end of the fight! Pit Canthropus Jr comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Canthropus Jr has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
