Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fee Cees!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chole Smith!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Valeri Chadov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cees gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Smith cracks Cees with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Smith scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Cees goes for a double leg but Smith avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Smith continues to drive forward.
Smith drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Cees manages to pull guard.
Cees is looking for a triangle but Smith pushes his legs off easily.
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cees. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Smith is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Smith trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Cees manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Cees throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Cees trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom.
Cees lands a couple of elbows.
Cees pushing down on Smith's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Smith is looking to improve his position.
Cees thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Cees is looking for a kimura but Smith is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cees to get the leverage.
Cees working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Cees wants to pass the guard but Smith is defending well.
Cees seems to be working for a kimura but Smith defends the submission attempt.
Smith is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Cees lands strikes from half guard.
Smith tries to roll over but Cees keeps him under control.
Cees lands with a punch from half guard.
Cees is pressing down on Smith's thigh, looking to free his foot. Smith is holding on for now.
Smith is trying to maintain the position but Cees is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cees lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Smith is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cees is trying to work for a kimura but Smith is defending well.
Smith is staying active underneath Cees, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Smith on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Smith tries to roll over but Cees keeps him under control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cees lands a nice short elbow.
Cees is looking for a kimura but Smith is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cees to get the leverage.
Smith is refusing to be controlled, as Cees sits in half guard.
Smith missing with punches from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Smith trying to hold on to Cees's head to control him but Cees postures up.
Cees looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Cees is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Smith defends it well.
Smith has hold of Cees's hands but Cees slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Smith controlling the position well.
Smith is trying to stand up here but Cees is controlling him well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Fee Cees dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Smith connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Cees's hands.
Cees fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Cees is looking to clinch but Smith is avoiding it.
Smith lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Cees takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Smith moves into range and connects with a jab.
Cees swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cees is looking to clinch but Smith is avoiding it.
Smith is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Cees's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Smith dives in looking to finish as Cees flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Smith's strikes! Smith is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Cees's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Cees was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chole Smith!
