The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson Iv dives in and grabs Sukarman's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sukarman pushes down on Thompson Iv's head and hops out.
Sukarman seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Sukarman throws a nice looking combination but Thompson Iv bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Thompson Iv cracks Sukarman with a good jab.
Thompson Iv shoots in for a takedown but Sukarman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Sukarman walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Thompson Iv has his takedown stuffed

and Sukarman counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Sukarman.
Sutarjo Sukarman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Thompson Iv.

Sukarman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Thompson Iv manages to get himself to full guard.

Sukarman thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Sukarman is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Sukarman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sukarman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Thompson Iv really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sukarman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Thompson Iv wants to hold on but Sukarman pushes him away.
Sukarman tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
