The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Conservative misses with the combination.
Conservative throws a lazy uppercut
and John counters with a nice leg kick.
Conservative on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Conservative buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Conservative swings and misses with a hook to the body.
John only half commits to the counter leg kick.
John looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
John tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Conservative was well out of range. Poor timing from John.
Conservative seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Conservative is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by John.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

John uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Conservative has time to react.

A looping hook to the body misses from John. Conservative does a little dance to reset his feet.
John bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Conservative's head.

John looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
John is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Closet Case Conservative seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Conservative will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

John avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

John has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
John uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Conservative has time to react.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and John counters with a nice leg kick.
Conservative feints and then cracks John's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow John down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
John has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from John there as he acknowledges the shot.
Scott John seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts John, as that shot connected.

and John counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

John pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
John jabs at Conservative's body.

John cracks Conservative with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Conservative looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can John finish him?

Conservative is rocked!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

John swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

and John counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

John feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Conservative sprawling to the canvas! Conservative rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can John finish him?!
Oh Conservative is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Conservative glances at the clock... BAM! John nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Conservative crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Conservative is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
