Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mark Twister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jens Pulver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Twister! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jens Pulver! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pulver tries a head kick but it misses.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Twister tries for a takedown. No joy.
Pulver is trying to break the clinch but Twister has him pressed against the cage. Twister wants the takedown. Pulver is fighting it off but Twister persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Pulver's guard against the cage. Twister wants to stand but Pulver has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Pulver throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Twister won't allow Pulver to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pulver is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Pulver pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Pulver lands a two punch combo.
That's one minute gone in the round. Twister shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Twister stopping the sweep attempt from Pulver. Pulver had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Twister is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Pulver Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Twister's back instead. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pulver looks gassed! Pulver is trying to stick to Twister's back but Twister is turning into Pulver. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Pulver's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Twister.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Twister stands and steps away. Pulver gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Twister forces Pulver back against the cage and clinches. Pulver prevents the takedown attempt.
Pulver throws a head punch that misses. Twister wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Twister. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pulver trying to control the position but instead, Twister has worked for underhooks and has pushed Pulver into the cage. Pulver turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Twister throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Twister scores with a takedown into Pulver's guard. Pulver is working an open guard so Twister takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Twister shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Twister was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Twister really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Pulver working to try and regain half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Pulver is squirming around, avoiding Twister's attempts to control the action. Pulver can't escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Twister fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Twister trying to control but he's not successful this time. Pulver is looking to get to half guard. Twister controlling his opponent. Twister working Pulver over with strikes here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Twister dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Pulver throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pulver keeps the fight on the outside. Twister tries to close the distance and clinch but Pulver swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Twister goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Pulver fails with an attempt to clinch.
Twister checks a low kick from Pulver. Pulver tries to keep at a distance but Twister has taken the fight into the clinch. Twister on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Twister breaks the clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Pulver. No joy for Twister on that attempt. Pulver looks to land a body kick but Twister moved away. Jens Pulver seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Twister closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pulver circles away. Twister takes the fight into the clinch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pulver tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Pulver gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Twister regains guard.

Twister will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Pulver throwing strikes from guard but Twister blocks nicely. Pulver with a flurry of punches that miss. Twister is pulling down on Pulver's head to control his posture. Pulver wants to stand but Twister has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Twister utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Twister not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Pulver wants to get up but he can't break Twister's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Twister shoots in but Pulver avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Twister. That's going to take a lot out of him. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pulver. Twister fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pulver sprawls well initially but Twister persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Pulver is looking to improve his position.
Pulver is not content to let Twister control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Twister stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Twister, right into the meat.
Twister shoots in and bounces Pulver off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Pulver pushes Twister off and scrambles back to his feet.
Twister shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pulver pinned against the cage. Pulver gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pulver scoring well with a low kick there.
Twister tries to clinch up and Pulver counters by moving into the clinch. Pulver wants to break free but Twister has control.
Twister goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pulver prevents it.
Pulver manages to break the clinch.
Pulver circles away from the clinch attempt so Pulver counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jens Pulver showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Twister shoots and misses and Pulver counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Pulver wants to clinch up but Twister keeps it at a distance. Twister doesn't succeed with the takedown and Pulver counters by moving into the clinch. Pulver lands with a left to the head. Twister manages to break the clinch.
Pulver gets a takedown into half guard. Twister tries to get to full guard but Pulver has control of the leg. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Pulver is working for a submission of some sort.
That's one minute gone in the round. Twister pushes Pulver off and gets back to his feet. Twister tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pulver paws at him with a jab and circles away. Twister looks to clinch and Pulver counters with a takedown into side control. Twister is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Pulver wants to free his trapped foot but Twister is holding on for dear life with his legs. Pulver not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Twister is trying to maintain the position but Pulver is very close to passing his half guard. Twister wants to get back to his feet.
Twister wants to control but Pulver is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Pulver clinches up against the cage. Pulver has hold of one of Twister's legs. Twister is fighting the takedown attempt but Pulver gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Twister pushes Pulver off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Pulver shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Twister pinned against the cage. Twister gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Pulver clinches up with Twister and pushes him back against the cage. Pulver with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Twister breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Twister misses with a takedown and Pulver counters with a single leg into guard. Twister didn't expect that. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Twister. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Twister wants to get back to his feet but Pulver is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Twister is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Pulver is looking to stand up but Twister won't let him. Twister is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pulver slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
And that's the end of the fight! Jens Pulver comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Pulver has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
