Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wayne Ambercrombie (ranked 4561 p4p, 4371 weight class) and Benjamin Strasser (ranked 0 p4p, 452 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wayne Ambercrombie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Benjamin Strasser! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Strasser enables Ambercrombie to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Strasser manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Ambercrombie is stalling in the full guard. Strasser wants to sweep here but Ambercrombie controlling him for the moment. Ambercrombie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Strasser swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ambercrombie seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ambercrombie might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ambercrombie drops back looking for a leg! Strasser is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Strasser manages to kick Ambercrombie off! Ambercrombie jumps back into Strasser's guard. Strasser working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Ambercrombie has passed into half guard!
Ambercrombie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Strasser is just riding it out for now. Ambercrombie eventually gives up the hold.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Strasser is trying to get back to full guard. Ambercrombie is trying to work for a kimura but Strasser is defending well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Ambercrombie controlling the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Strasser scores with a jab to the jaw. Ambercrombie drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Strasser is looking to get back to his feet here but Ambercrombie is keeping cool and he's managed to take Strasser's back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Strasser is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Ambercrombie.
Ambercrombie lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Ambercrombie working for the choke. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ambercrombie looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Strasser is controlling Ambercrombie 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard. Strasser must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ambercrombie seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Wayne Ambercrombie dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Strasser with a body punch. A glancing blow. A shot to the liver by Strasser. Beautiful body shot. Ambercrombie looking to score a takedown here. Strasser is defending well but Ambercrombie drives through and ends up in Strasser's guard. Ambercrombie sitting in guard, not really doing much. Wayne Ambercrombie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ambercrombie passes easily into side control. Nice work. Ambercrombie is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Strasser can do to turn this around? A lull in the action here as Ambercrombie stalls from top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ambercrombie has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Ambercrombie shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Strasser's guard. Strasser is wriggling around but Ambercrombie manages to pass to half guard.
Ambercrombie frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Ambercrombie controlling the pace for now. Strasser is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ambercrombie stands up from mount. Strange move. Ambercrombie takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Strasser misses with a series of wild punches.
Ambercrombie looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ambercrombie frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Ambercrombie content just to control the position here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ambercrombie is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Strasser is surviving well by controlling Ambercrombie's body position as best he can. Ambercrombie controlling from the full mount. Ambercrombie seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Strasser for as long as he can get away with. Ambercrombie is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Strasser is surviving well by controlling Ambercrombie's body position as best he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ambercrombie tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ambercrombie in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Ambercrombie punishing his opponent with strikes. Strasser takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Strasser tries to improve his position but instead Ambercrombie has taken his back! Strasser is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Ambercrombie off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Ambercrombie slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Strasser covers up after that shot from Ambercrombie.
Strasser is rocked! Ambercrombie has his arm under Strasser's chin here. Game over son! Ambercrombie squeezes tightly and Strasser is forced to tap out!
