Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dustin Griffin (ranked 4493 p4p, 23644 weight class) and Bruno Salvacion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruno Salvacion told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dustin Griffin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Bruno Salvacion! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Alyssa Summers and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salvacion shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Griffin as he jumps to the side. Salvacion takes a kick to the side of the head. Salvacion drops his hands momentarily and Griffin takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Salvacion looks for the body kick but Griffin saw that one coming. Griffin lands with a cross. Griffin throws a head kick that half lands.
Griffin lands a head kick!
Griffin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Griffin throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Salvacion's head. Salvacion shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Griffin pinned against the cage. Griffin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin lands a big head kick that sends Salvacion tumbling to the mat! Griffin takes a step backwards and waves Salvacion back to his feet - he wants the finish! Griffin connects with a good right hand that stumbles Salvacion. Salvacion circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Griffin lands a head kick. Salvacion smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Griffin throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Salvacion counters with a takedown into side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Griffin tries to get back to half guard but can't. You can see the frustration on Griffin's face as Salvacion controls the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Griffin is trying to control Salvacion's posture but Salvacion avoids it. Griffin throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Griffin is trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Griffin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Griffin lands a jab to the head.
A head kick misses from Griffin. Salvacion is trying to counter with his kicks. Salvacion dives in for a single leg takedown but Griffin sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Dustin Griffin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruno Salvacion. Griffin scores with a head kick.
Griffin lands with a kick to the temple. Salvacion shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" A head kick from Griffin lands but Salvacion takes it in his stride. Salvacion drives through with a takedown into guard. Griffin wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Salvacion manages to pass to side control.

This has been an exciting period of action! Griffin is looking to get back to full guard here but Salvacion has managed to pass to side control instead. Griffin is looking for a sweep. Salvacion controlling the position. Let's hope that Salvacion has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Dustin Griffin dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! Salvacion takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Salvacion shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Griffin pinned against the cage. Griffin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Griffin tests Salvacion's chin there with a solid looking shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Griffin throws a head kick but Salvacion moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin is trying to control Salvacion's posture but Salvacion avoids it. A lull in the action here as Salvacion stalls from top position. Griffin can't do much from the bottom here. Griffin tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Salvacion just content to control the position. Griffin wants to control but Salvacion postures up. Salvacion scoring with punches and elbows. Griffin is trying to improve his position. Salvacion just content to control the position. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Salvacion.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Griffin wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Salvacion is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Dustin Griffin is winning the standup battle so far. Griffin connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. A head kick from Griffin lands but Salvacion takes it in his stride. Griffin throws a sloppy head kick so Salvacion counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Griffin wants to get back to his feet but Salvacion passes into half guard.
Bruno Salvacion has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Salvacion controlling the pace. Griffin is trying to control but Salvacion passes into side control!
Griffin tries to bench press Salvacion off him but Salvacion keeps the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Salvacion controls the position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Bruno Salvacion will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round! Griffin throws a head kick that misses. Salvacion avoids the head kick by Griffin.
Salvacion steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. A head kick misses from Griffin. Salvacion misses with a takedown attempt - Griffin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A left and a right from Griffin both land. Nice combination. Griffin tries a head kick but it misses.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A momentary lapse in concentration from Griffin enables Salvacion to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Griffin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Salvacion is standing up over Griffin. Griffin looks to escape but Salvacion dives into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin seems a little lost for a moment, as Salvacion dominates the positioning. Griffin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Salvacion can do to turn this around? Griffin is pushing Salvacion's head away, looking to escape. Salvacion manages to hold on to the position though. Salvacion working away. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Griffin can't do much from the bottom here. Griffin seems a little lost for a moment, as Salvacion dominates the positioning. Salvacion's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Griffin wants to control but Salvacion postures up.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Bruno Salvacion. I think Salvacion has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
