Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Maris Lakis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dexter Warren!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Steve Erwin and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Warren.
Warren tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lakis shoots in but Warren avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Warren lands with a thumping leg kick.
Warren misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lakis throws a quick counter head kick but Warren was just out of range.
Lakis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Warren avoids it really well and circles away.
Warren lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lakis gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Lakis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lakis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maris Lakis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lakis goes for a double leg but Warren avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Warren continues to drive forward.
Warren looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Warren pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Warren keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lakis fails in his attempt to clinch.

Warren closes the distance and clinches.

Warren escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice sprawl there from Warren as Lakis shoots in.
Warren lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Warren avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Warren swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A jab lands there for Warren.
Lakis throws a head kick but Warren moves out of range.
Lakis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Warren defends it nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Warren misses with a double jab.
Lakis dives in and grabs Warren's left leg, looking for a takedown. Warren pushes down on Lakis's head and hops out.
Lakis looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Lakis goes for a double leg but Warren avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Warren continues to drive forward.

Warren breaks from the clinch.
Lakis fails with the takedown.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A jab from Warren finds it's way through Lakis's defenses.
Warren scores with a head kick. Lakis tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Lakis shoots in for a double leg but Warren sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Lakis tries to clinch there but Warren circles away.
Warren looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Lakis moves in looking to clinch but Warren pushes him off.
The crowd cheers as Warren lands an impressive looking overhand right. Lakis doesn't seem phased though.
Warren scoring well with a low kick there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lakis lands a leg kick that knocks Warren off balance momentarily.
Dexter Warren seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Warren keeps the fight on the outside.
Lakis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Warren.
An attempted straight right counter from Lakis misses the target.
Warren throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Lakis's head.
Warren swings for the body but Lakis moves out of range.
Warren stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Warren wants it to stay on the feet.
A low kick from Lakis misses
and Warren counters with a three punch combo that has Lakis backing up. Lakis nods at Warren to acknowledge the strikes.

Lakis is rocked!
Lakis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Oh Lakis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dexter Warren is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lakis is breathing heavily.
Warren connects with a stiff jab that staggers Lakis - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Dexter Warren!
