Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Door Knob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roberto Azevedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Azevedo comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The key to victory for Door Knob has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roberto Azevedo! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Knob fails with the takedown. Knob misses with a takedown attempt - Azevedo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Azevedo throws and low kick but Knob moves out of range easily. Azevedo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Door Knob. That's going to take a lot out of him. Knob misses with a takedown attempt - Azevedo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Roberto Azevedo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Azevedo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Azevedo misses with a straight left. Knob uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Azevedo.
Azevedo misses with a hook. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Azevedo misses with a wild body shot. Knob closes the distance and clinches up with Azevedo, looking for a takedown. Knob pushes Azevedo against the cage but Azevedo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Azevedo misses with a low kick. Knob shoots in for a takedown but Azevedo shows good takedown defense. Knob tries to clinch up. Nice sprawl there from Azevedo as Knob shoots in.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knob takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Azevedo throws a nice outside leg kick. Knob is breathing heavily. A combination from Azevedo does no damage. Knob displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Azevedo throws out the jab. Azevedo throws a looping overhand right but Knob ducks down to avoid it. Azevedo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A big left from Azevedo misses. Azevedo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Knob moves away. Azevedo throws a head kick that misses. Knob shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Azevedo pinned against the cage. Azevedo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Azevedo is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. Knob gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Knob being controlled here, momentarily. Azevedo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Azevedo slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Knob not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Azevedo trying to control but Knob is working from the bottom. Knob keeping full guard, as Azevedo tries to pass. Azevedo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Azevedo trying to control the position from guard on top but Knob is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Knob controls Azevedo momentarily but Azevedo frees himself.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Knob keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Azevedo. Knob slips a jab from Azevedo. Knob moves out of range as Azevedo strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Azevedo is looking to chop away at Knob's legs. Azevedo tries a low kick but Knob avoids it. Azevedo motions for Knob to come forward. Azevedo throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Knob slips under a jab. Azevedo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Knob misses with a takedown attempt and Azevedo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Knob's guard now. Azevedo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Knob is keeping the position for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Knob looking for a guillotine here but Azevedo defends easily.

Knob is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Azevedo controls from within his opponent's guard. Azevedo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Knob is keeping the position for now. Knob keeping moving, preventing Azevedo from controlling successfully. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Knob is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Knob wants to sweep here but Azevedo controlling him for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Azevedo does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Azevedo throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Azevedo misses with a hook. Knob displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Azevedo throws out the jab. Azevedo throws a looping overhand right but Knob ducks down to avoid it. Knob lands a jab-cross combination. Knob keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Azevedo. Knob shoots in for a double leg but Azevedo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Azevedo misses with a straight right. Knob doesn't succeed with the takedown and Azevedo counters with a single leg into guard. Knob didn't expect that. Azevedo distracts Knob with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Knob looking for a sweep. Not yet Knob, not yet. Knob working a defensive guard here.
Azevedo passes Knob's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Azevedo is working for a kimura but Knob is defending it quite comfortably.

Knob wants to get back to full guard. Azevedo is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Knob is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
