Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Leo Jones (ranked 4410 p4p, 2926 weight class) and Melo Motts (ranked 0 p4p, 132 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Leo Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Melo Motts! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Ben Hemmingworth and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Motts looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Jones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Motts is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Motts struggling a bit here. Jones trying to control the action but Motts is working from the bottom. Motts takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Motts tries to improve position but can't. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones is looking to take a break and control but Motts is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Motts can't do much from the bottom here. Jones thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's one minute gone in the round. I wouldn't like to be where Motts is right now. Motts sneaks back into half guard. Motts is looking to improve his position.
Motts is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jones's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jones's back! Jones trying to control the action but Motts just sinks the hooks in. Motts keeps control of the position easily here as Jones tries to buck him off.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Motts tightening his grip on Jones, looking for the choke. This has been an exciting period of action! Jones fending off the submission attempt from Motts.

Jones has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Motts controlling the position well here. Jones rolled but Motts kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Motts is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Jones has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Motts has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Jones taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Motts doesn't care though - he's delighted!
