Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dimitri Svyatogor (ranked 343 p4p, 1460 weight class) and Vic Barnes (ranked 53 p4p, 171 weight class). Svyatogor comes into the arena with Carl Espen - Silent Storm blaring out of the sound system. Dimitri Svyatogor has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dimitri Svyatogor! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Vic Barnes! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barnes misses with a straight right. Barnes throws a leg kick but Svyatogor sees it coming and moves out of range. A shot to the body from Barnes misses and Svyatogor counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Barnes throws a head kick that misses and Svyatogor cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Barnes throws a leg kick that is checked and Svyatogor connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. A low kick from Barnes is predictable there and Svyatogor counters with a stiff right hand. Barnes throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Svyatogor has taken the fight to the clinch.
Barnes throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Barnes has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Svyatogor lands a right hand. Svyatogor can't find room to land a body shot as Barnes controls the action.
Svyatogor effectively controlling the action here. Svyatogor working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Barnes tries to break the clinch but Svyatogor is controlling the position. Barnes is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Svyatogor throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
That's one minute gone in the round. Svyatogor misses with a punch to the body.
Svyatogor landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Barnes looks winded! Svyatogor digs a right hand into Barnes's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Barnes's gas tank. Svyatogor lands a shot to the body. Svyatogor scores with an uppercut up the middle. A short right hand to the side of the head by Svyatogor. Svyatogor slows down the pace here.
Svyatogor is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Svyatogor lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Barnes wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. The referee calls for Svyatogor to work.
We've been informed that Barnes has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Svyatogor lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Barnes wants to break free but Svyatogor has control.
Our sources have told us that Svyatogor has been working on his elbows in the gym. Barnes working hard to break the clinch. Barnes wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Svyatogor digs a right hand underneath Barnes's ribcage. Barnes let out a lung full of air as it connected. Svyatogor lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Svyatogor stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Svyatogor lands a shot to the body. Svyatogor lands a right hand. Barnes struggles to land a body shot inside as Svyatogor controls his hands.
Svyatogor unloads a knee to the mid-section. Svyatogor throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Barness head.
Barnes is rocked! Svyatogor creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Barnes's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Barnes drops to his knees and Svyatogor pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dimitri Svyatogor! Dimitri Svyatogor retains his heavyweight title! Dimitri Svyatogor very nearly forgot to thank Brooklyn Apothecary amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name.
