Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nick Star! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Josh Garner! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garner shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Nick Star seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A slow jab from Star misses its intended target. Star sets himself, and Garner steps forward looking for the clinch! Star avoids it this time. Garner is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Garner blocks a jab. Star lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Garner is rocked! Garner walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Garner limp body while Star jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nick Star!
