Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Vinnie Pellegrini (ranked 2180 p4p, 2905 weight class) and Snapple Grapple (ranked 227 p4p, 284 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vinnie Pellegrini! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Snapple Grapple! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grapple slips a straight right by Pellegrini. Grapple fails with an attempt to clinch.
Pellegrini is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Grapple. Grapple drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Pellegrini defends it well. Grapple misses with an uppercut. Pellegrini saw that one coming. Grapple avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Grapple keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Grapple shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pellegrini sprawls well. Pellegrini wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Grapple gets slowly back to his feet. Pellegrini digs a good body shot into Grapple's ribs. Pellegrini steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Grapple. Pellegrini swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Grapple looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Grapple sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pellegrini's guard. Grapple trying to control the action but Pellegrini is working from the bottom. Grapple thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grapple is working for a submission of some sort.
Grapple wants to free his trapped foot but Pellegrini is holding on for dear life with his legs. Grapple looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Grapple throws a strike but Pellegrini avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Grapple wants to pass the guard but Pellegrini is keeping the position. Grapple missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Pellegrini pulls Grapple in close to prevent any damage. Pellegrini keeping moving, preventing Grapple from controlling successfully. Grapple postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Grapple trying to control the position from guard on top but Pellegrini is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pellegrini not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Vinnie Pellegrini seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A shot to the liver by Pellegrini. Beautiful body shot. Grapple misses with a looping left. Pellegrini digs a good body shot into Grapple's ribs. Pellegrini misses with a body shot.
Pellegrini lands with a nice combination. Grapple backs away looking to recover. Grapple fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Grapple tries to clinch up but Pellegrini circles away and keeps his distance. Grapple misses with a right hand and Pellegrini cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A jab from Pellegrini misses. Nice uppercut lands for Pellegrini. That snapped Grapple's head back.
Grapple is rocked! Grapple missing with a left hand there. Pellegrini was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Grapple is still on wobbly legs! Can Pellegrini finish him? Pellegrini lands a jab to the nose.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pellegrini throws a pinpoint strike between Grapple's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Grapple crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Pellegrini scores a great knockout victory!

A very excited looking Vinnie Pellegrini made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
