PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clarence Hoost (ranked 6679 p4p, 3687 weight class) and Crucifix Hill (ranked 594 p4p, 362 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Clarence Hoost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Crucifix Hill!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Matheus Silva and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill closes the distance looking to clinch
and Hoost counters with a lovely straight right hand!

It looks like Crucifix Hill has been cut.
Hoost misses with a double jab.
Hoost scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Hoost swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Hill counters with a stiff right hand.

It looks like Clarence Hoost has been cut.
Hoost connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hill. Hill circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Hoost throws a shot to the body.
Good work by Hill as he checks the leg kick.
Hill raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Hoost catches Hill napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Hill to the canvas!

That has opened up Crucifix Hill's cut even more.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hill wants to improve his position but instead Hoost has moved into half guard.

Hill is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hill is staying active underneath Hoost, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Hoost is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hoost in particular looking to stall.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hill preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Hill is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hoost's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hoost's back!
Hill just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Hoost looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Hill controlling the position well here. Hoost rolled but Hill kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Hoost lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Hoost seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Hill throws a nice looking combination but Hoost bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hoost swats away the attempt to clinch by Hill.
Hoost works the jab nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hoost lands with a good body shot.
Hoost misses with a straight right.

A combination from Hill does no damage.
An attempted straight right counter from Hoost misses the target.
Hoost swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hoost looks to throw the jab but Hill is out of range.
Hill replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Hoost blocks it well.
Hoost lands with a hook. Hill tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

The cut above Crucifix Hill's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Hill displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hoost throws out the jab.
Hill lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Hill tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Hill takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Hoost fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hill looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Hoost misses with a two punch combination.
Hill lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hoost lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Crucifix Hill's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Hoost waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Hill. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Hill to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
Hill is still in real trouble! Can Hoost finish him?

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Crucifix Hill's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Clarence Hoost!
