Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Drew Barnes (ranked 2199 p4p, 2084 weight class) and Phol Hunt (ranked 231 p4p, 221 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hunt's waist but Hunt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Barnes off to one side.
Hunt looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Hunt defending well as Barnes loads up on a big left hand.
Hunt lands a lovely overhand right.

It looks like Drew Barnes has been cut.

Barnes looking to score a takedown here. Hunt is defending well but Barnes drives through and ends up in Hunt's guard.

Barnes is pushing down on Hunt's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hunt is fighting to maintain full guard but Barnes has managed to sneak the leg through.
Barnes is nestled in close to Hunt, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Hunt is not content to let Barnes control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barnes is looking to advance position but Hunt won't allow it.

Hunt's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Barnes passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hunt!

Hunt is in a horrible position here. Barnes smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Hunt wants to control but Barnes is having none of it.
Barnes is landing with some decent strikes but Hunt is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Hunt is wriggling around trying to escape.
Barnes with shots to the head and body - Hunt looks very uncomfortable down there.

Hunt is rocked!
Barnes postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Hunt badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Barnes around the waist but Barnes pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Barnes is the winner by TKO! Barnes jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
