Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabricio Bettin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Norman Coldwell! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coldwell fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
It looked like Bettin was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Coldwell throws a series of punches but Bettin moves out of range. Bettin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bettin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Coldwell moves in looking to clinch but Bettin pushes him off. Coldwell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Some wild striking there from Bettin.
Coldwell swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bettin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Norman Coldwell has been cut. Bettin misses with a double jab.
Coldwell wants to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Coldwell wants to clinch. Coldwell drives through and clinches with Bettin against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coldwell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bettin scores with a jab. Coldwell acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Some wild striking there from Bettin.
Coldwell unleashes a big counter combination but Bettin bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Coldwell is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Bettin moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fabricio Bettin!
