Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Toby Keith Yrkje (ranked 1607 p4p, 1304 weight class) and Skop Doner (ranked 233 p4p, 188 weight class). Yrkje's entrance music is As Good As I Once Was. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Toby Keith Yrkje! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Skop Doner! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big left from Yrkje misses. Yrkje drops his hands momentarily and Doner takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
It looks like Toby Keith Yrkje has been cut. Yrkje misses with an uppercut. Doner saw that one coming. Doner waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Yrkje. A little feinted left hand from Yrkje on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Doner jabs Yrkje to the body, keeping him at a distance. Doner misses with a hook. Yrkje ducked under it nicely. Yrkje is looking to counter punch. Yrkje keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Yrkje ducks right into an uppercut from Doner. Doner tries to keep at a distance but Yrkje has taken the fight into the clinch. Yrkje tries to work over Doner's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Yrkje tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Doner's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! A short right from Doner. Yrkje misses with the head strike.

Yrkje is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Doner is aware though and is defending well. Doner wants to pass the guard but Yrkje is keeping the position. Yrkje escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Doner gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Yrkje had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Doner defends it easily. Doner passes into half guard. Yrkje tries to get to full guard but Doner has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yrkje slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Doner wants to control from the top but Yrkje keeps moving. Yrkje is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Doner is aware though and is defending well. Yrkje keeping moving, preventing Doner from controlling successfully. Doner pushes down on Yrkje's leg and manages to get into half guard. Yrkje is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Doner is looking for a kimura but Yrkje is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Doner to get the leverage. Yrkje looking for submissions off his back. Doner is trying to control. Yrkje wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Yrkje is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Doner's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Doner's back! Doner is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Yrkje gets his way!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Yrkje is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Doner trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Yrkje keeping moving, preventing Doner from controlling successfully. Yrkje looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Doner must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Yrkje throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Yrkje has his foot on Doner's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Doner works his way back into a safe position though. Doner trying to control but Yrkje is working from the bottom. Doner pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Yrkje is keeping the position for now. That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Doner is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Toby Keith Yrkje overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Yrkje controls Doner momentarily but Doner frees himself. Doner got a little sloppy there for a moment and Yrkje has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Doner has managed to get both his arms back between Yrkje's legs - danger averted. Doner advances to half guard. Yrkje wants to get back to full guard. Yrkje looking for submissions off his back. Doner is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Yrkje defends it well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Doner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Yrkje keeps working. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Yrkje throws a right and a left that both miss. A little jabbing left from Doner on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Yrkje moves into the clinch successfully.
Yrkje swings wildly with an uppercut but Doner uses good head movement to avoid it. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Yrkje. Doner throws a head punch that misses. Yrkje lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Doner scores with an uppercut up the middle. Yrkje blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Doner misses with a looping left. Doner displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Yrkje throws out the jab. Doner pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Doner ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Yrkje moves away. Doner misses with a looping right. Yrkje tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Doner manages to circle out of the way. and Yrkje counters with a nice uppercut. Yrkje takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Yrkje clinches with his opponent.
Skop Doner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yrkje lands a right hand. Yrkje lands with a left to the head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Doner manages to pull guard.
Yrkje forces his way into half guard. Doner is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Yrkje works his way into full mount! Yrkje looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Yrkje looking to control but Doner is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Doner tries to reverse the position but Yrkje maintains control. Doner prevents Yrkje from taking his back. Doner tries to improve his position but Yrkje has taken his back! Yrkje has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Doner tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Yrkje pushes Doner away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
