Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marko Antonije (ranked 2261 p4p, 3271 weight class) and Javon Reese (ranked 244 p4p, 332 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Javon Reese!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Marko Antonije has been cut.
Reese takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Antonije lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Reese ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Reese no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Antonije not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Reese working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Antonije doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Antonije manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Reese escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Antonije gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Reese looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Reese has his foot on Antonije's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Antonije works his way back into a safe position though.

Horrible takedown attempt by Reese or perhaps it was just good defense by Antonije, which made it look bad.

Reese is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Reese with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Reese is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Antonije to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Antonije shrugs it off.
