Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Vincentius (ranked 4486 p4p, 6519 weight class) and Marcus Shakes (ranked 460 p4p, 597 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Shakes's choice of entrance music: About the Money- T.I.. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Shakes!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Bruno Lombardi and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shakes fails with an attempt to clinch.
Shakes checks a low kick from Vincentius.
Shakes tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Vincentius manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Shakes fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vincentius, pushing him back against the cage.
Vincentius has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Vincentius can't find room to land a body shot as Shakes controls the action.
Vincentius jumps guard but Shakes stands there with Vincentius around his waist. Vincentius gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Shakes looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Vincentius jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Shakes walks away with a smile on his face. Vincentius gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

so Vincentius counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Vincentius is looking to pass into half guard but Shakes pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Shakes is in guard.


Vincentius is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Shakes defends well.

Vincentius working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shakes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shakes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Shakes kicks Vincentius off and gets to his feet.

and Vincentius decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Shakes's guard.

The fight stays on the outside here - Shakes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Marcus Shakes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
