Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Derk Voorheis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Braydon Harms! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Voorheis shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Harms is trying to defend but Voorheis finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Harms is trying to control but can't.
Voorheis prevents Harms from improving his position. Ground and pound from Voorheis. Harms told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Harms keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Voorheis seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Voorheis is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Voorheis connects with a nice short shot to Harms's temple. Voorheis is stalling here. Harms is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Voorheis seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Harms has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Harms just content to control the position. Harms looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Harms tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harms wants to lay and pray for a moment but Voorheis keeps working. Harms tries to move into full mount but can't pass Voorheis's legs. Harms trying to control the action but Voorheis is working from the bottom. Voorheis stops Harms from passing to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Voorheis wants to control but Harms postures up. Voorheis on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Voorheis tries to get out of the position. Harms is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Voorheis has escaped the position, nice work there. Harms wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Voorheis, who protects the arm well. Harms is trying to get an arm triangle but Voorheis is defending well. Harms is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Voorheis has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Voorheis is not content to let Harms control the position. Voorheis is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Harms is working for a kimura but Voorheis is defending it quite comfortably.
Voorheis controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Harms is looking to take a break and control but Voorheis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Voorheis tries to roll over but Harms keeps him under control. Harms keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Voorheis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Harms looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Harms is trying to control Voorheis's posture but Voorheis avoids it. Voorheis lands a decent elbow from side control. Harms is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Voorheis off and has taken his back! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Harms has got his arm under Voorheis's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Voorheis has spun round into Harms's guard beautifully! Well done that man!
Voorheis works over Harms with some ground and pound from guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Derk Voorheis dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Harms is trying hard to land a takedown here. Voorheis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Voorheis scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Voorheis landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Harms wants to control but Voorheis is keeping busy.
Voorheis is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Harms is rocked! Voorheis lands a big elbow - Harms is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Voorheis!
