Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Hayles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ron Swanson!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hayles clinches with his opponent.
Swanson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Hayles lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Hayles content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hayles trying to mount his opponent but Swanson defends it.
Hayles is working hard here to advance position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hayles gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Hayles turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hayles manages to end up in side control.

Hayles is trying to get an arm triangle but Swanson is defending well.
Swanson is not content to let Hayles control the position.
Hayles tries to stand but Swanson is controlling his head.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Hayles dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Swanson dodges the punch combination from Hayles.
Swanson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hayles throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Hayles moves into the clinch.

Hayles gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Hayles's corner is telling him to maintain position.
We've been informed that Swanson has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Swanson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Swanson is breathing heavily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jay Hayles overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hayles would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Hayles pushes Swanson up against the cage in a clinch.

Hayles has Swanson pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hayles pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Swanson tumbling to the mat - Hayles dives into Swanson's guard.
Hayles stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Swanson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hayles's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Hayles continues to stall.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hayles has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Swanson is proving hard to escape from.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Hayles engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hayles throws a right and a left that Swanson avoids nicely.
Hayles rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Swanson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Swanson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Hayles dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Swanson avoids a punch combination nicely.

Hayles drops Swanson with a beautiful combination! Swanson stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Hayles is looking for the KO!

Swanson is rocked!

It looks like Ron Swanson has been cut.
Hayles lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Swanson falls backwards - clearly groggy! Hayles dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jay Hayles!
