Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Michael Bostic (ranked 5424 p4p, 5747 weight class) and Dustin Ribas (ranked 416 p4p, 436 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Michael Bostic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dustin Ribas! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ribas clinches up with Bostic and pushes him back against the cage. Ribas successfully pulls guard.
Bostic postures up.
Bostic scoring with some ground and pound. Ribas wants to stand but Bostic is controlling the position. Ribas wants to sweep but no luck. Bostic scoring with some ground and pound. Bostic keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Ribas's head. Ribas not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bostic postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Bostic stands up over Ribas, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bostic is working Ribas over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Bostic throwing strikes but missing. Ribas wants to sweep but no luck. Bostic wants to control from the top but Ribas keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bostic chips away with some ground and pound. Bostic trying to control the position from guard on top but Ribas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bostic won't allow Ribas to sweep him here. Bostic trying to control but Ribas is working from the bottom. Bostic is in close to Ribas's body, working some short punches and elbows. Bostic lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bostic postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Bostic makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Bostic has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Bostic postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Ribas is rocked! Bostic stopping the sweep attempt from Ribas. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bostic's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Ribas is still in real trouble! Can Bostic finish him? The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bostic won't allow Ribas to sweep him here. Ribas seems to have recovered his senses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bostic's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Bostic might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Bostic throws a big elbow that misses. Bostic drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ribas manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bostic has Ribas in his guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Bostic has his hands on Ribas's head, controlling the position. Bostic controls Ribas momentarily but Ribas frees himself. Bostic has his foot on Ribas's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ribas works his way back into a safe position though. Bostic wants to control but Ribas passes easily into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bostic is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Ribas throwing shots but Bostic is blocking nicely. Bostic tries to roll over but Ribas keeps him under control. Ribas tries to stand and escape but Bostic is controlling the position. Bostic wants to get back to full guard. Ribas wants to take a breather but Bostic is having none of it. Bostic gets back to full guard.
Ribas pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bostic is keeping the position for now. Bostic escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ribas gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Bostic looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Bostic wants to control but Ribas passes easily into half guard.
Bostic tries to get to full guard but Ribas has control of the leg. Ribas throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. My spies in Savage Krew / Death Squad inform me that Ribas has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Ribas not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Bostic looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Ribas trying to control from half guard but Bostic is working away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bostic works his way to full guard. Good work. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Bostic dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. A telegraphed right hand from Bostic misses the target. Bostic moves out of range of the body kick from Ribas.
Ribas fails with a takedown attempt. Ribas looks to land a combination but Bostic avoids it well. Ribas takes a jab right on the kisser.
Ribas lunges at Bostic with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Bostic's hand. Bostic is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ribas can do to turn this around? Ribas fails with a takedown attempt. Ribas staying out of range there. A jab from Bostic misses. Bostic slaps away a takedown attempt from Ribas, before circling back to the center of the mat. Michael Bostic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dustin Ribas. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bostic misses with a straight left. Bostic lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. A lazy left from Bostic finds it's target. Ribas misses with a takedown attempt - Bostic sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Ribas will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ribas keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bostic. Nice defenses there by Ribas. Ribas swings for the body but Bostic moves out of range.
A combination from Ribas does no damage. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Bostic!
Ribas ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Bostic throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Michael Bostic is winning the standup battle so far. Ribas defending well as Bostic loads up on a big left hand. Ribas clinches. Bostic has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ribas avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Bostic is looking to take this one to the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bostic looking for a takedown. Ribas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Bostic throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ribas looks to land a body kick but Bostic moved away. Bostic was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Ribas moves away from the strike by Bostic. Ribas walks into a straight right hand from Bostic. Ribas shoots in for a takedown but Bostic shows good takedown defense. Bostic throws a body shot but no joy. Ribas moves away from the strike by Bostic. Dustin Ribas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jab, jab by Bostic - just one landing. A big left from Bostic misses. Ribas staying out of range there. Bostic scores with the left hand. Ribas knows he should have avoided that one. Bostic waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Ribas. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Ribas. Ribas avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bostic with a nice cross. Ribas tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bostic sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ribas somewhat. Ribas tries to land a front kick but Bostic steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Bostic throws a hook to the side of Ribas's head but Ribas sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Ribas tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Bostic jabs Ribas right on the nose. Ribas blinks but takes it well. Bostic loads up on a big right hand but Ribas slips the punch. Ribas defending well as Bostic loads up on a big left hand. Ribas fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bostic misses with a looping right. Michael Bostic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ribas misses with a takedown attempt - Bostic sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Ribas tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Ribas looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Bostic closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bostic lands in his opponent's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bostic with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bostic's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ribas wants to get back to his feet but Bostic is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Bostic connects with a couple of short punches. Bostic lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Bostic postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Ribas had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bostic defends it easily. Ribas trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Bostic dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! Ribas looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bostic is fending him off so far but Ribas persists. Nope, Bostic circles away and we're back to standing. A big right from Bostic misses. A slow jab from Bostic misses its intended target. Bostic closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ribas to the mat! Ribas manages to get full guard. Bostic wants to control from the top but Ribas keeps moving. Bostic lands a couple of digs. Bostic stops Ribas from standing up. Bostic postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Bostic is looking to work some ground and pound but Ribas has wrist control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ribas looking for a guillotine here but Bostic defends easily.

Ribas is looking for a triangle here but Bostic uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Bostic scoring with punches and elbows. Bostic in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Ribas struggling a bit here. Ribas takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Ribas takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Michael Bostic overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bostic creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Bostic lands a strong strike to the head of Ribas. That's dazed him! Bostic looking to finish here. Ribas is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Bostic lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
