Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Ferreira (ranked 3755 p4p, 6600 weight class) and Gabriel Marques (ranked 455 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Marques.
Ferreira moves out of range as Marques throws a body kick.
An attempted straight right counter from Ferreira misses the target.

Marques gets the takedown into side control.
Marques controls the position from side control.
Ferreira is looking to reverse the position.
Marques really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ferreira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Ferreira manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Come on Marques - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Marques pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Marques shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ferreira pinned against the cage. Ferreira gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The crowd cheers as Marques lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ferreira doesn't seem phased though.

Ferreira avoids a kick to the body.
Ferreira seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Marques tries a head kick but it misses.

Marques shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ferreira's guard.

Ferreira pulls Marques in to control the position.
