Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Liger Justin (ranked 2273 p4p, 24296 weight class) and DaeShaun Williams (ranked 308 p4p, 770 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Liger Justin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, DaeShaun Williams!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Justin blocks a jab.
A telegraphed right hand from Williams misses the target.
Justin half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Williams on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Williams displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Justin throws out the jab.

Justin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Williams manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Williams uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Justin keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Williams.

Williams drops Justin with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Justin looks back up at him and smiles so Williams waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

It looks like Liger Justin has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Justin gets the takedown into side control.
Justin working the ground and pound but Williams is defending the strikes.
Williams gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Williams really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Justin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Williams wants to control but Justin is keeping busy.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Williams can do anything to dispel that myth.

Justin is nestled in close to Williams, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Justin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Justin takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Williams is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Justin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Williams's head.
Well, if Justin is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Williams is trying to maintain the position but Justin is very close to passing his half guard.
Justin takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Justin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Williams for as long as he can get away with.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Justin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Williams scores with a jab. Justin acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Justin jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Justin decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Justin lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Williams is looking to improve his position.

Williams is looking for a sweep. Justin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Justin slows the pace down in half guard.
Justin landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Justin lands a nice short elbow.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Justin in particular looking to stall.

The crowd cheers as Justin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Williams doesn't seem phased though.
DaeShaun Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams throws a hook to the side of Justin's head but Justin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Williams throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Justin sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Williams lunges at Justin with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Justin's hand.
Williams might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Justin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Williams's waist but Williams gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Justin off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Liger Justin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Justin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Justin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Williams's guard.
Justin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to DaeShaun Williams.
I think Williams has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
