Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Glass Joe (ranked 975 p4p, 611 weight class) and Tom Thomas (ranked 56 p4p, 37 weight class). Joe comes to the cage accompanied by La Marseillaise. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Glass Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 24 - 1, fighting out of London, Tom Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe moves away from the strike by Thomas.

Joe closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Thomas quickly recovers to half guard.
Joe has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Thomas is trying to stand.

Joe is keen to just control but Thomas is a slippery customer.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Joe is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Thomas sees it coming and defends easily.

Joe decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Thomas manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Joe keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Thomas lands a hook that snaps the head of Joe backwards.

A short uppercut from Thomas.
Joe tries to work over Thomas's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Thomas digs a right hand underneath Joe's ribcage. Joe let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Thomas throws a punch but it's blocked by Joe.
Thomas lands a hook to the side of the head.

Joe breaks from the clinch.

Thomas tries to sprawl but Joe drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Thomas manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Thomas misses with a straight left.

Thomas drives through and clinches with Joe against the cage.
Thomas swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Thomas throws a head punch that misses.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Thomas.
Thomas has a couple of punches blocked by Joe.
Thomas tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Joe's elbow.

Joe has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Thomas regains guard immediately.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Tom Thomas dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

It looked like Joe was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Thomas throws a jab when Joe was well out of range.
Joe on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Thomas just misses with a punch to the body.
Thomas throws a hook but Joe avoids it easily.
Joe tries to close the distance and clinch up but Thomas swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Joe fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Thomas to the ground. Joe is now in Thomas's guard.
Thomas is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Joe is controlling him.

Joe gets to his feet. Thomas looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thomas swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Joe feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Joe has Thomas pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Joe pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Thomas tumbling to the mat - Joe dives into Thomas's guard.

Thomas is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Joe presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Thomas pulls Joe in close to his closed guard and prevents Joe from doing any damage or advancing position.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Thomas manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Joe pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Joe throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Thomas was covering up waiting for the punch and Joe finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Tom Thomas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Tom Thomas seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Tom Thomas is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Joe has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Thomas clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Well Thomas has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
