PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Punchsky (ranked 2852 p4p, 3385 weight class) and Ryan Del Oeste (ranked 114 p4p, 127 weight class). Del Oeste comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Coming Home kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vladimir Punchsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Del Oeste!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Eddie Farnsworth and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punchsky scores with a jab. Del Oeste acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Del Oeste throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Punchsky's waist but Punchsky gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Del Oeste off to one side.
Punchsky has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Del Oeste feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Punchsky wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Del Oeste manages to pass to side control.

It looks like Del Oeste might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Punchsky is looking for a sweep. Del Oeste is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Punchsky has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Del Oeste is working away from the top position though.

Punchsky was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Del Oeste shoots in for a double leg but Punchsky sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Punchsky went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Vladimir Punchsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Del Oeste.
Punchsky fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Del Oeste manages to avoid it.

Del Oeste is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Punchsky's half guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!

That was a close round but I would say that Vladimir Punchsky will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Del Oeste scores with a nice right hand.

Del Oeste throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Punchsky was covering up waiting for the punch and Del Oeste finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Punchsky is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Del Oeste's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Punchsky wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Ryan Del Oeste comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Punchsky has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
