Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Morales (ranked 2101 p4p, 2350 weight class) and Herb Green (ranked 260 p4p, 289 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ricardo Morales! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Herb Green! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Morales avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Green closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Morales tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Morales loads up on a big right hand but Green slips the punch. Green throws an overhand right that lands on Morales's shoulder, as Morales tries to avoid the shot. Morales lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Green wants to clinch. Green takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Green ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Morales lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Morales looks to land a right hand but Green moved out of range. Green keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Morales has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cloud9 in the buildup to the fight. A big left from Morales misses. Morales backing away here, and Green unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Morales bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Green fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Nice body kick there by Morales. Green shoots in and gets a takedown into Morales's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Green with a flurry of punches that miss. Green throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Morales works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Green has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Green is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Green postures up and lands a big shot to Morales's brow. Green stopping the sweep attempt from Morales. Green sitting in guard here, content to control. Morales not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Morales had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Green defends it easily.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Morales with a nice calf kick. Green misses with a body shot
and Morales counters with a solid body kick. Green closes the distance and clinches. Green misses with a hook from the clinch. Morales pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Green shoots in for a takedown but Morales shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Sloppy strikes from Morales. Those never looked like landing. Morales thuds his right hand into Green's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from Morales. Green does a little dance to reset his feet. Green has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Morales does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Morales misses with a wild body shot. A solid leg kick lands there for Morales.
Ricardo Morales is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Morales tests Green's chin there with a solid looking shot. Nice sprawl there from Morales as Green shoots in. Ricardo Morales has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Herb Green. Morales throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A low kick from Morales is predictable there and Green counters with a nice double leg into side control. Morales won't be happy with that. Green is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Morales is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Green lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Morales down.

Green shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Morales as he avoids it easily. Morales throws a body shot but no joy. Morales keeps the fight on the outside. A head kick by Green misses and Morales counters with a lovely straight right hand! Morales scores with a kick to the body.
Green needs to keep his hands up - Morales had a free shot at his head there. Green tries to clinch but Morales moves out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Green shoots in for a double leg but Morales sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Morales throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Morales stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Morales wants it to stay on the feet. Ricardo Morales has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Herb Green. Morales ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Green moves away. Green looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Morales was covering up waiting for the punch and Green finishes the takedown easily into guard. That's four minutes gone in the round. Green shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Morales's guard. Morales is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Green trying to control but Morales is working from the bottom. Green tries to free his leg and advance position but Morales is retaining full guard. Morales is trying to keep Green in close.

Green darts in and clinches Morales up against the cage. Green manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Morales got a little sloppy there for a moment and Green has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Morales has managed to get both his arms back between Green's legs - danger averted. Green looking to control.
Morales tries to free his leg and advance position but Green is retaining full guard. Green is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Morales trying to control the position from guard on top but Green is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Morales is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Green has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Morales is looking to defend but Green has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Morales! Green pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Morales taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Herb Green! Herb Green seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
