Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, chris cav! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Max Pain! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! cav looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. cav closes the distance and lands a one-two. Pain shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says cav as he avoids it easily. cav tries to bum rush Pain with a series of wild strikes but Pain uses good footwork to avoid the assault. cav closes the distance and pushes Pain back into the cage. cav has a couple of punches blocked by Pain.
cav is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Pain pulls him back up using the underhooks. Pain has clasped his hands together around cav's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. That's three minutes gone in the round. cav goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. cav tries to clinch up. Pain is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. cav clinches. Pain lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Pain is pressed up against the cage. cav has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pain down to the mat. Pain avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. cav misses with a few strikes there.

Pain tries to close the distance and clinch but cav swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Pain checks the leg kick nicely there.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A combination from cav does no damage. The fight moves into the clinch position. Pain lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Pain is pressed up against the cage. cav has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pain down to the mat. Pain avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for chris cav. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pain looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? cav is fending him off so far but Pain persists. Nope, cav circles away and we're back to standing. No joy there for cav, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pain is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. cav doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pain. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Max Pain dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
