Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jurumin Silva (ranked 2501 p4p, 2325 weight class) and Art Mcgowan (ranked 264 p4p, 248 weight class). Jurumin Silva has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jurumin Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Art Mcgowan! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva loads up on a big right hand but Mcgowan slips the punch. Silva looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Mcgowan looks for a takedown but Silva sprawls well. Silva tries to counter with a takedown but Mcgowan is quick to defend against it. Mcgowan tries to clinch but Silva moves out of range. Mcgowan shoots in looking for a takedown but Silva manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mcgowan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Silva tries to counter with a takedown but Mcgowan is quick to defend against it. Mcgowan shoots in but no luck this time. Jurumin Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Art Mcgowan. Silva gets tackled into the cage by Mcgowan. Mcgowan maintains the clinch. Mcgowan told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. A bit of stalling here from Silva.
Mcgowan misses with a body punch.
Silva keeps control of Mcgowan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silva lands a body shot. Mcgowan goes for a takedown in the clinch but Silva prevents it.
Silva tries to pull guard but Mcgowan won't allow it.
Mcgowan lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva is positioning himself well to prevent Mcgowan advancing to mount. Mcgowan wants to take a breather but Silva is having none of it. Silva gets back to full guard.
Mcgowan looking to pass the guard. Mcgowan has gone for a leg lock! Silva slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mcgowan's guard. Silva is pushing down on Mcgowan's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mcgowan is fighting to maintain full guard but Silva has managed to sneak the leg through. Mcgowan trying to get back to full guard but Silva takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Mcgowan is squirming around, avoiding Silva's attempts to control the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Mcgowan is forced to tap! Great finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jurumin Silva! A relieved looking Jurumin Silva thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
