Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chipo Lata (ranked 2719 p4p, 3023 weight class) and Joakim Johansson (ranked 302 p4p, 327 weight class). Johansson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Scarlet - Hail the apocalypse kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joakim Johansson!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Chris Edwards and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lata throws a jab but it's blocked by Johansson.
Lata misses with a hook
and Johansson counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Chipo Lata has been cut.
Johansson scores with a hook.
Lata shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Lata bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Lata loads up on a big right hand but Johansson slips the punch.
Johansson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Lata fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Johansson manages to avoid it.
Lata has been working on his boxing with his coaches at BaeRZ's MMA Academy in the buildup to the fight.
Lata stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Lata slips under a jab from Johansson.
Johansson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Lata throws a body shot but no joy.
Lata lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Chipo Lata seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circling - Lata throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Despite the aggression on Johansson's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

and Johansson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Johansson slips a straight right by Lata.

Chipo Lata's cut is getting worse.
Johansson lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Lata out cold! Lata is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!

Joakim Johansson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
