Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Peter (ranked 7133 p4p, 2806 weight class) and Jamal The Snake (ranked 508 p4p, 275 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Peter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jamal The Snake ! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Snake leaves Peter with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Peter closes the distance and clinches. Peter jumps guard and drags The Snake to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Peter not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Peter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Peter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in The Snake 's guard.
The Snake is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Peter has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. The Snake is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Peter wants to stand but The Snake is controlling his posture from full guard.

Jimmy Peter dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! You can see the frustration on Peter's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Peter is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because The Snake is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The Snake is breathing heavily. Peter is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Peter is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The Snake is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Peter is on top in guard.

Peter is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that The Snake can do to turn this around? Peter is looking to stand up but The Snake won't let him. Peter wants to control from the top but The Snake keeps moving. Peter would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. The Snake has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Peter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Peter trying to control the position from guard on top but The Snake is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Peter thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The Snake is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Peter is aware though and is defending well.

Peter looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Peter wants to control but The Snake is keeping him busy. It looks like Peter is going to stand back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The Snake postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Peter is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of The Snake , into his guard. Peter is looking to stand up but The Snake won't let him.
