Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jinjing Yan (ranked 5170 p4p, 5477 weight class) and Jamil Hurst (ranked 617 p4p, 643 weight class). Hurst has chosen Keep Their Heads Ringin' as his entrance music. Jamil Hurst has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jinjing Yan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jamil Hurst!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hurst shoots in looking for a takedown. Yan tries to sprawl out of it but Hurst keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Yan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hurst shoots in for a double leg but Yan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Yan gets caught flat footed, as Hurst shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Yan pulls Hurst in to control the position.
Hurst trying to control the position from guard on top but Yan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Yan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Yan tries to get out of the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hurst drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hurst jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Yan definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Hurst drops back looking for a leg! Yan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Yan manages to kick Hurst off! Hurst jumps back into Yan's guard.
Yan has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hurst with a lazy takedown attempt
and Yan counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hurst thinking.
Jinjing Yan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jamil Hurst.

Hurst closes the distance and clinches up with Yan, looking for a takedown. Hurst pushes Yan against the cage but Yan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Hurst throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Yan's waist but Yan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hurst off to one side.
Yan is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Hurst shoots in looking for a takedown but Yan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hurst's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

It looked like Yan was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Hurst changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Yan tries to avoid it but Hurst manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Yan to the ground. Yan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hurst shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Yan as he jumps to the side.

Hurst throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Yan was covering up waiting for the punch and Hurst finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Hurst has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Yan is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Hurst yanks on the arm and Yan is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Hurst.
