Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergey Makarov (ranked 2663 p4p, 2838 weight class) and Khabib Ferguson (ranked 304 p4p, 322 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makarov throws an overhand right that lands on Ferguson's shoulder, as Ferguson tries to avoid the shot.
Ferguson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Makarov throws out the jab.
Makarov is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
The fighters circling - Makarov throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Makarov gets cracked there but stands up to it.

It looks like Sergey Makarov has been cut.
Makarov just misses with a punch to the body.
Nice shot lands for Ferguson.
Makarov swings for the body but Ferguson moves out of range.
Makarov sets himself, and Ferguson steps forward looking for the clinch! Makarov avoids it this time.
Makarov tries to clinch up but Ferguson circles away and keeps his distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Makarov thuds a left hand into Ferguson's body.
Makarov swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ferguson counters with a nice uppercut.
Ferguson blocks a jab.
Makarov throws the left hand but Ferguson avoids the punch easily.

Ferguson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Ferguson waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Makarov. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Makarov to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

Makarov is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ferguson is stalling in the full guard.
Oh Makarov is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Makarov seems to have got his legs back now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ferguson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ferguson wants to control from the top but Makarov keeps moving.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Ferguson looking to sit in guard and control but Makarov gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ferguson can't keep his opponent in guard - Makarov advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Makarov performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Makarov tries to pass to full mount but Ferguson defends it.
Ferguson desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Makarov looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Makarov seems to be looking for submissions.
Ferguson is trying to get back to full guard.
Makarov is taking a breather. Ferguson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Ferguson is doing well to control the position and prevent Makarov from advancing to side control.
Makarov is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Makarov prevents Ferguson from improving his position.

Ferguson looking for submissions off his back.
Makarov wants to control but Ferguson is keeping him busy.
Makarov content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ferguson is not content to let Makarov control the position.
Makarov is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Ferguson!
Ferguson is looking to get to half guard.
Ferguson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Ferguson slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Ferguson keeping hold of Makarov's head, controlling as best he can.
Ferguson is trying to maintain the position but Makarov is very close to passing his half guard.
Makarov wants to control but Ferguson is keeping him busy.
Makarov wants to pass to mount but Ferguson is defending the position.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Makarov misses with a right hand
and Ferguson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Makarov tries to score with a low kick but Ferguson moves his leg out of the way.
Ferguson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Makarov.
Khabib Ferguson seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Makarov connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Makarov throws a nice looking combination but Ferguson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ferguson with the counter takedown but Makarov avoids it easily.
A low kick from Makarov is predictable there
and Ferguson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Ferguson pounces like a tiger and cracks Makarov with a vicious hook! Makarov is down but not out! Ferguson follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Khabib Ferguson!
Khabib Ferguson spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
