Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Medzavi Nwaoge (ranked 2464 p4p, 2683 weight class) and Vern Vurris (ranked 103 p4p, 109 weight class). Nwaoge comes to the cage accompanied by Buganda Music Ensemble - Mulirwana. Medzavi Nwaoge has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Medzavi Nwaoge!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vern Vurris!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Francis DeMontford and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nwaoge pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Vurris looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Nwaoge scores with a jab to the body.
Nwaoge connects with a right hand. Vurris shakes it off.
It looks like Vern Vurris has been cut.
Nwaoge fails to land with a series of punches.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vurris has Nwaoge pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Vurris pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Nwaoge tumbling to the mat - Vurris dives into Nwaoge's guard.

You can see the frustration on Vurris's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Nwaoge has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Vurris's body.
Vurris defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Nwaoge's arms.

Nwaoge throws a right hand that Vurris ducks under and follows up with a left that Vurris also avoids with ease.
Medzavi Nwaoge seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nwaoge looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Vurris is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Nwaoge gets his way!

Vern Vurris comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.

Vern Vurris decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
