Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Drax Bautista!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Dean Styles and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kowalski takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Bautista keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Peter Kowalski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kowalski misses the shot to the body.
A counter left hand to the body from Bautista misses its target.
Kowalski takes a swing at Bautista's ribcage but misses.
Kowalski tries for a takedown but Bautista circles away easily
and Bautista counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Kowalski takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Bautista thuds his right hand into Kowalski's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Kowalski should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Bautista connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Bautista definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Kowalski just misses with a punch to the body.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kowalski has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Kowalski there as he acknowledges the shot.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Kowalski has eaten all the pies!
Kowalski gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Bautista.
Kowalski drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kowalski has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Bautista is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Kowalski misses with a takedown attempt - Bautista sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Bautista knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kowalski on the ground.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kowalski cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Kowalski has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Bautista holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Kowalski tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Kowalski lands a couple of good shots and Bautista has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kowalski controlling the position well here. Bautista rolled but Kowalski kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Kowalski has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

That was a close round but I would say that Drax Bautista will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Kowalski throws a head kick but Bautista moves out of range.

and Bautista makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Kowalski takes one on the chin but seems OK.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bautista enables Kowalski to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bautista manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Kowalski tries to free his leg and advance position but Bautista is retaining full guard.
Kowalski is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kowalski postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bautista is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kowalski, into his guard.

Kowalski has a closed guard, preventing Bautista from standing up.

Bautista wants to control from the top but Kowalski keeps moving.
Kowalski is pulling down on Bautista's head. It's preventing any offense from Bautista, at least for the moment.
Kowalski wants to sweep but no luck.
Peter Kowalski has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kowalski will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Bautista slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Bautista will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kowalski had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bautista defends it easily.

Kowalski swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kowalski throws a lazy right hand but Bautista sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Bautista punishes Kowalski's body with a nice straight punch.

Bautista lands a nice shot that snaps Kowalski's head back.

A looping hook to the body misses from Bautista. Kowalski does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kowalski shoots in but Bautista avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Drax Bautista has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Kowalski.
Kowalski takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Bautista leaves Kowalski with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kowalski walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Kowalski takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bautista's jab looks to have found its range, popping Kowalski under the eye.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bautista connects with a body shot.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bautista, as that shot connected.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

The crowd cheers as Bautista lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kowalski doesn't seem phased though.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Drax Bautista is winning the standup battle so far.
Kowalski has his takedown stuffed
and Bautista counters with a huge left! Kowalski is in big trouble! He's backing up but Bautista isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Kowalski from any more damage. A dominating finish by Bautista!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Drax Bautista!
After the fight, Drax Bautista was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
