The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Llosa tries for a takedown but Santaban circles away easily
and Santaban counters with a two punch combo.
Llosa doesn't manage to clinch there - Santaban circles away.
Llosa misses with a takedown
and Santaban counters with a stiff right hand.
The fighters circling - Llosa throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Santaban loads up on a big right hand but Llosa slips the punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Llosa tries to clinch but fails miserably

Santaban stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Santaban wants it to stay on the feet.
Santaban tried to counter with a leg kick but Llosa avoided it.
Uniesky Santaban has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ernesto Llosa.

Santaban walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Uniesky Santaban is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Llosa closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Santaban quickly recovers to half guard.

Llosa is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Santaban tries to kick Llosa off but Llosa keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
My spies in Doc Dannis Death Squad inform me that Llosa has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

After the fight, Ernesto Llosa was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
