Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alec Burns (ranked 2209 p4p, 1035 weight class) and Rasmus Reedtz (ranked 231 p4p, 121 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Burns might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Alberto Del Rio theme song. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alec Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rasmus Reedtz!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, jab by Reedtz - just one landing.

Reedtz shoots in and bounces Burns off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Reedtz trying to control but Burns is working from the bottom.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Reedtz working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Reedtz throwing strikes but missing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reedtz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burns wants to stand but Reedtz is controlling the position.
Reedtz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Burns is looking to stand up but Reedtz isn't so interested in that idea.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reedtz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Reedtz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Reedtz looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Burns's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Reedtz connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Burns scrambles back to his feet.
Burns takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
A lazy left from Reedtz finds it's target.
Reedtz takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Burns throws a sloppy head kick and Reedtz moves out of range easily.

Reedtz drives through with a takedown into guard.
Reedtz's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Reedtz throws a big right hand that misses.
Reedtz sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Reedtz trying to control the position from guard on top but Burns is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Reedtz stops Burns from standing up.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Reedtz throws a big right hand that misses.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Reedtz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Burns manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Burns is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Reedtz presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Reedtz throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Burnss head.
Burns misses with the head strike.
Reedtz lands a right hand.
Reedtz takes a knee to the side of the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Burns manages to break the clinch.

Reedtz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Burns to the mat! Burns manages to get full guard.
Burns keeping moving, preventing Reedtz from controlling successfully.
Reedtz working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Burns's head.

Reedtz trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Reedtz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Burns works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Reedtz is stalling in the full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Reedtz throws a big right hand that misses.
Reedtz wants to pass the guard but Burns is keeping the position.
Reedtz prevents Burns from getting back to his feet.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

That's time! Burns's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Horrible takedown attempt by Reedtz or perhaps it was just good defense by Burns, which made it look bad.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Burns connects with a solid leg kick.
Alec Burns is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Reedtz drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Burns throws a push kick but Reedtz slaps the foot to one side.
Burns misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Reedtz is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Reedtz sizes up Burns with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Reedtz throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Burns was covering up waiting for the punch and Reedtz finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Rasmus Reedtz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Burns went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Reedtz is nestled in close to Burns, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Reedtz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Burns is staying active underneath Reedtz, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Reedtz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Burns is just riding it out for now. Reedtz eventually gives up the hold.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Rasmus Reedtz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Reedtz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Rasmus Reedtz very nearly forgot to thank Urban Fighter amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
