Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gary Sparxx!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Nickels!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nickels feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Sparxxs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Sparxx lands the left hand.
It looks like Jimmy Nickels has been cut.
Nickels tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sparxx paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Good shot there by Sparxx.
Nickels checks a low kick from Sparxx.
Nickels blocks a jab.
Sparxx swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Nickels keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sparxx throws a hook to the side of Nickels's head but Nickels sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Gary Sparxx seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nickels swings widly with a right hand
and Sparxx counters with a nice body shot.
Nickels shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Nickels looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Nickels fails in his attempt to clinch.
A slow jab from Sparxx misses its intended target.
Sparxx throws a jab but it's blocked by Nickels.
Nickels loads up on a big right hand but Sparxx slips the punch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sparxx is looking to land body kicks.
Nickels has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sparxx finds it's way round the side to connect with Nickels's head.
Sparxx thows a left - swing and a miss!
Sparxx throws a right hand that misses
letting Nickels counter with a right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sparxx bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Sparxx drops Nickels with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Nickels looks back up at him and smiles so Sparxx waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Nickels is rocked!
Sparxx fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Nickels out cold! Brutal finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Gary Sparxx!
Gary Sparxx very nearly forgot to thank Altitude Clothing amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
