The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stepanov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Babyara was well out of range. Poor timing from Stepanov.
Babyara uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stepanov.
Babyara throws a nice looking combination but Stepanov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Stepanov takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

A lull in the action here as Stepanov stalls from top position.
We've been hearing good reports from Stepanov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Stepanov lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Babyara down.
Stepanov lands a decent elbow from side control.

Babyara is looking to regain half guard here but Stepanov keeps moving and retains side control.

Stepanov is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Babyara looks calm but he's in trouble here. Stepanov gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Babyara is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Stepanov lets go of the hold and Babyara can pop his arm back in it's socket.
