Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Rogan (ranked 4313 p4p, 23777 weight class) and Warran Peace (ranked 389 p4p, 540 weight class). Warran Peace has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Carlos Rogan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Warran Peace! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Edson Gomes and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rogan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Peace quickly recovers to half guard. Rogan is trying to work for a kimura but Peace is defending well.
Rogan working the head and body with strikes. Rogan throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Rogan tries to pass to full mount but Peace defends it. Peace wants to control but Rogan is keeping busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rogan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Rogan missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Rogan seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peace blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rogan. Rogan wants to free his trapped foot but Peace is holding on for dear life with his legs. Rogan is looking to take a break and control but Peace is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Rogan content to control rather than advance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rogan thows a huge punch but Peace dodges it nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rogan is defended easily by Peace. Rogan looking to score a takedown here. Peace is defending well but Rogan drives through and ends up in Peace's guard. Peace wants to stand up but Rogan is controlling him. Rogan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Rogan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rogan wants to control from the top but Peace keeps moving. Rogan trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Rogan postures up in Peace's guard and throws a big left but Peace blocks it. Rogan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Peace is keeping the position for now. Rogan trying to control but Peace is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Rogan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Peace defends it nicely. Rogan drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Rogan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Rogan throwing strikes but missing. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rogan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Rogan shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Peace manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Rogan controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Rogan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Peace can do to turn this around? Rogan advances position into side control! Rogan tries to advance to mount but can't. Peace is working to avoid the ground and pound but Rogan connects with a decent elbow. Rogan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Peace keeps working. The ground and pound from Rogan seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Rogan postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Rogan sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Peace is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Rogan wants to control but Peace is keeping him busy. Rogan swings around for an armbar but Peace sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rogan's guard. Rogan lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Rogan trying to control the position from guard on top but Peace is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rogan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rogan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rogan scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Rogan content to stall in guard here. Rogan wants to control from the top but Peace keeps moving. Rogan's corner is telling him to maintain position. Rogan with a nice head shot there. Rogan's corner is telling him to maintain position. Peace is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rogan is controlling him. Peace has a closed guard, preventing Rogan from standing up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Rogan is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Peace closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rogan did well to prevent Peace getting side control. Rogan is pressing down on Peace's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Peace postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rogan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Peace avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rogan. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Carlos Rogan dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round! Peace shoots in looking for a takedown but Rogan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Peace's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. A little feinted left hand from Rogan on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Rogan shoots in for a double leg but Peace sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Peace changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rogan tries to avoid it but Peace manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rogan to the ground. Rogan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Rogan is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Peace gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Rogan to score an easy takedown into full guard. Rogan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Rogan stands up over Peace, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rogan lands a couple of decent looking shots. Rogan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Rogan throws an elbow that misses. Peace uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rogan's guard. Nice move by Peace!

Peace postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rogan avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Rogan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Peace is aware though and is defending well. Peace scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Rogan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Peace manages to get himself to full guard.

Peace wants to stand up but Rogan is controlling him. Rogan stays in close to Peace's body and controls the position. Warran Peace has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rogan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Peace for as long as he can get away with. Rogan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Rogan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Peace sprawls well initially but Rogan persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Rogan wants to pass to mount but Peace is defending the position. Rogan controlling the pace. Peace trying to control but Rogan postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rogan is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
And that's the end of the fight! Carlos Rogan showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rogan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
